This is a mock web app design for a fictional company, Barter. The main point of this project was to develop a design for an an application that could help solve a social issue. I wanted to focus on how to make bartering more accessible.
Inspired by a video where a woodworker talked about how she bartered with a knitter, trading some of her crafts for a hand knitted goods. She talked about how nice it felt to not have to put a price on her crafts, to connect with another crafter, and to value another artisan and feel valued as an artisan without the pressure of “capitalism.” This prompted an idea of a “social media” platform where crafters and artisans can connect to barter their goods, skills and services, no money allowed. "Want a tattoo? Well, I could use a logo designed."
